In Honor of Greatness

We at STANDARDS pay homage to the greatness that has gone before, and that which continues to educate, elucidate, and inspire.

In this issue, we honor the lives and works of four central figures long within the international realms of cultural enrichment: singer Celia Cruz; author and activist June Jordan; singer Nina Simone; and playwright August Wilson.

For this tribute, we have elected to bring to the public a celebration in visual arts: the lush and splendid works of Jim Davis Rosenthal are here presented in joyful remembrance of what each of these figures have brought to our shared worlds.
