Although I've always amassed pictures of my friends and lovers, in 2002, I began photographing masculine-identified persons as distinct series. The uniqueness and commonalities between switch tops; MTF butch lesbians; soft butches; AGs; studs; transmales; and male-ID'd intersexed individuals defy simple categorization. Capturing moments of those differences and honoring each individual has become central to my photography. Hence, "Claiming Masculinity" was born. Below, just a few samples of the early works.
